BIOGRAPHY
I am a music teacher and composer and currently offer piano, music theory and music composition lessons out of my home. I also work in primary schools as an artist-in-residence, teaching music composition and music integrated lessons.
I attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and earned bachelor and masters degrees in music composition with an emphasis on piano.
I took piano lessons for 13 years, starting at age eight. I was fortunate enough to have had eight different piano teachers during that time, and I learned a lot from all of them. I have also learned a great deal from guiding my own children in their music lessons over the past twelve years.

GOALS
I have a great love of music and wish to pass that love on to others. My goals are:
- to help every student, whatever their age, to learn quickly and have fun
- to give students a greater understanding and appreciation of how music is constructed
- to increase students’ musical skills, including performing, listening, and sight reading
- to encourage and teach students to express themselves through music
My lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. I utilize different methods of teaching music to create the best learning environment for the individual student
LESSONS
If you are considering lessons for your child or for yourself, I urge you to talk with a potential teacher about your goals for the lessons. Be sure the teacher is someone you and your child feel comfortable with. Finally, I urge you to take the lessons as seriously as you do reading, writing and arithmetic. Learning to play music is wonderfully enriching, and should be a part of every person’s life.
